Program to Program Item Copy Utility

Program to Program Item Copy Utility enables a program to be populated with items from another program without setting up the items again.  Example:  If a 1999 program is ending and the 2000 program is setup up, the items from the 1999 program can be copied over to the 2000 program in one step.

Copy Setup

Source Program.  Enter the program ID where the items already exist.

Item Class (F/C).  Enter the item class of the items to be copied.  As earlier discussed, fulfillment and co-op items can exist in the same program.  If only the fulfillment items are to be copied, enter "F".  The utility will copy the setups of all fulfillment items over to the new program.  If Co-op items are to be copied, enter "C".  Co-op and fulfillment items can be copied simultaneously by pressing Enter for all.

Include discontinued items.  If discontinued items are to be copied, enter "Y".  If only the items to be continued are to be copied, enter "N"NOTE:  If the discontinued items are known, mark the items as discontinued in the Co-op/Drop ship Item Maintenance or Inventory Item Maintenance on the IFM menu.

Valid Item Status Codes.  This utility can be set to copy only those items with a particular item status code.  If all the items are to be copied, enter Spacebar.  This field will accept up to 10 item status codes.

To Program ID.  Enter the program ID where the items are to be copied to.  This program ID must have already been set up in Inventory & Sales Program Setup on the IFM menu.

Replace existing items (Y/N).  If the items being copied are to replace the items that may already exist in the new program, enter "Y".  If the items are an addition to the existing items, enter "N".

Program to Program Item Copy Utility is a real keystroke saver when new programs are started with existing customers.  Some programs go on forever.  Some are time managed and a new program is setup each year.  Some of the items in the programs go to the next program and some do not.  It is a lot easier to tag an item as discontinued and then copy the program than to delete the discontinued item from the new program once copied.
