Order Printing Forms Set-Up

 

Order Printing Forms Setup is on the Order Processing Set-up (SEO) menu.  This maintenance option is used to modify or create forms to company's desired format.  Here are the options available:

 

Format Maintenance

 

This option allows you to copy an existing form part and modify the fields and lines.  Or, you may prefer to start with a blank screen and create the desired form part by using the graphics capability.  You can also select this option to display the listing of forms parts IDs and suffix codes currently on the system.

 

Display Directory

 

Select this option to choose from a listing of current form parts to determine which form is to be copied or modified.

 

Print Directory

 

This option allows you to print out the list of forms directly from the screen. 

 

Delete Inactive VDT Formats

 

Select this option to delete any unused form parts.

 

Copying/Modifying a Form Part

 

We strongly recommend that you copy an existing form part and modify the copied form part instead of modifying the original .

 

1.  At the menu type: SET
 
2.Select Order Processing Setup
 
3.Select Order Printing Forms Setup
 
4.Select Format Maintenance.  At Program Name, press F2 to display the order form parts available.  Select the form part you wish to copy/modify.
 
5.At Suffix Code, press F2 to display the form part suffixes.  Suffixes are used in case you choose to use more than one type of any of the particular form parts available.  Select the suffix for the form part you wish to copy/modify.
 
6.Once the suffix is entered, the following prompt will display:  Enter D-Description, C-Copy, X-Delete, P-Print, Enter-Maintain Format.
 
7.To copy the form part, type C (Copy)
 
8.NEW PROGRAM NAME*:  You may enter:
    *  An existing form part name with a different suffix code*, or
    *  Enter a NEW NAME and suffix code.

 

HELPFUL HINT:  You may want to use your company's initials and the initials of the form part, ie., (Quikey Computer Packing Slip) for the form part name.  Suffix codes are one-digit alpha or numeric characters.

 
9.Enter the New Description for the form part, i.e., Packing Slip.
 
10.If the data is correct, type: y
      If you need to modify a field, type n and make corrections.
 
11.Once you have answered Y to is the information correct, press F4.  This will return you to the Program Name.  Follow the instructions in #s 5 and 6 above to display the new order form part you just created.  Remember:  The difference between the original and the new form part may only be the suffix.
 
12.Press [ENTER] to display and maintain the form part.  Press F3 (Item Level Help) for instructions on cursor movement, attributes, and special functions available to make modifications.
 
13.After modifications, Press F4 to SAVE and EXIT the program. 

 

 

To Create a New Form Part from a Blank Screen

 

1.At the menu, type SET
 
2.Select Order Processing Set-up.
 
3.Select Order Printing Forms Setup.
 
4.Select Format Maintenance
 
5.Press F2 to view the listing of current form part names.
 
6.NEW PROGRAM NAME:  You can enter:
      *  An existing form part name with a different suffix code, or
      *  Enter a NEW NAME and suffix code.
 
7.Select Y to ADD a new VDT format.
 
8.Type in the new form description.
 
9.Press [ENTER] to create a new form part (Maintain Format).
 
10.Press F3 - Item Level Help - for a list of available attributes, ie., F9 = Graphics, F8 = Underline, etc., and text editing capabilities available to create a new form part.
 
11.After creation, Press F4 to SAVE and EXIT program.

 

 

To Use the New Form Part or Change a Form Part I.D. to the Modified

 

1.At the menu type:  SET
 
2.Select the option Branch/Location Setup.  Enter the Branch Code that will use the new or modified form part.     
 
3.Select F8 - Forms Printing Setup.
 
4.Choose from the listing of available form part types.
 
5.The Form Name will display.  Type the Form I.D. Number (this is the Program Name and Suffix Code) or use the "?" to display all available form parts already set up in Order Printing Setup.
 
6.You may specify to print the header, the form name, and the GP and commission.

 

7.        Press F4 to END.  Log off the system, then log back in.
