This program is used to close an accounting period or to close the fiscal year.  The system will display the current accounting period and also the accounting period that the system will change to once the current accounting period is closed.

WARNING:  Even though the first eleven (11) accounting periods can be reopened on the SEG menu, under General Ledger Basic Setup, period 12 cannot be reopened, even by the best technical programmers.  Be very careful when the current accounting period is 12 that this period is closed only when it is truly ready to be closed.
