This option allows you to post the changed status of an order's WIP code when it transitions from one dept. or stage in your processes to another.  WIP codes can be used as selection criteria on many Open Order Reports and by posting an order's changed status here the system allows you to track at what stage your open orders are at.

This option requires that you have WIP codes set up in WIP Code Maintenance to begin with and then allows you to select a predominant WIP code that you want to post your orders to.  Typically this is done by a department that is passing on a list of orders to the next department in the sequence of processes.  The system then simply requires that you key in the order that you want to post the new WIP code to and then you can hit enter twice to post the new code and continue this process until you are done posting the changed WIP status code.
