This is an area where additional modems can be added to the POOL and maintained.  The modems in the pool may be used for other purposes, but if they are dedicated for Credit Card Processing, then approx. 7-9 seconds can be reduced off of each transaction.  However, the Modem must be configured for a 7-bit, Even Parity protocol at 2400 Baud. Also, the Port should be configured for this by placing a script in /etc/rc.d/8 that will use setiscport to maintain the port config.  See the setprinter or setscale scripts commonly in this same directory for examples.  Check the scall in CCS450 to see what needs to be done.  Contact QCS technical support at 234-542-4400 for more assistance in this area.
